OUGD503: What Is Already Sold At High End Retailers

If the products are going to be sold at high end retailers, I thought it would be a good idea to see what is already out there on these retailer websites, the brief gave examples of Selfridges, M&S and John Lewis.

The types of tins I expected to see came up when searching for examples that are already sold on the websites, they're incredibly sophisticated and luxury so there is definitely a standard the packaging must be to make its way onto their shelves and websites. The packaging is very rich looking, in terms of the colours and designs used, they're all definitely at a higher price point but this is usually expected from a loose leaf tea packaged in a metal tin. It certainly makes the tea look appealing to the consumer and they often have delicious sounding names and descriptions on them with exotic flavours.

I think the next step for me would to be gather a few more images of loose leaf tea tins and look further into the types of packaging styles that are used and also come up with an idea of selling them as a trio/gift set as I think they need an overarching theme that makes them an appealing present for someone.
