OUGD504- Research into existing guide books

Guidebooks from last years brief

While looking last years guidebooks, I came across this one which is also based on the Northern Quarter, it was really useful and interesting to look at how someone else had interpreted a guidebook on the NQ and what places/photographs they had included.

This particular book was focused more on the bars and nightlife side of the NQ which it is most commonly known for. I liked the way this book was put together and how it was bound together by hand, it gave it a much more personal feel, this guidebook will be the complete opposite to mine as they have used a very dark colour scheme, the photographs inside also seem to be very dark and dull whereas I intend for mine to be a lot more colourful and vibrant.
